In semiconductor technology, technology transfers are commonly used processes to either transfer technologies from a development environment to a higher volume manufacturing environment or to transfer processes to other manufacturing facilities through capacity expansion.

Another application for a technology process is the acquisition of a semiconductor process that needs to be integrated into its own production environment.

Technology Transfer Business Process

We use a business process that allows us to plan all necessary activities in terms of content and time in a phase plan. Each phase has a clearly defined goal defined by a milestone.

SIPOC-Method

Each process phase is described by the SIPOC method. SIPOC stands for Supplier, Inputs, Process, Output and Customer. SIPOC is a Six-Sigma method and helps to describe complex facts in a structured and clear way.

Document-Management-System

In a mainly information-based process, documents are key.
With the large number of resulting documents, it must be ensured that the organization works with the most up-to-date documents. The validity or invalidity of a document must be determined at all times.To ensure this, a web-based “document management system” is used, which is built according to QM standards.

Process-Matching and Synchronization

Technology synchronization between the issuing and receiving sites is an important success factor for efficient transfer. The higher the degree of synchronization, the higher the probability of a successful transfer.

We distinguish between three synchronization levels. In “Level 1”, only the process results are synchronized. “Level 2” describes the synchronization of plant configurations, recipes and materials. “Level 3” also includes the synchronization of process-related manufacturing aspects (e.g., frequency of plant inspection).
